White Eagle Saloon
I found a great place tonight. If you are ever in Portland (and aren't staying with me) this great little hotel has rooms for $30 a night and it looks like its been there a hundred years. Like an old west saloon with the rooms on the second floor and it actually seems kind of fancy, in an old west sort of way. The interior is a lot of carved wood and old signage and mosaic tile. And its right on the max line! I wish I was visiting so i could stay there. its in this odd little industrial corner across the river from downtown. Seriously. Unless you are staying with me that is.

while you're in the neighborhood: Mint, a few doors up, has a sick mixologist. well worth grabbing a cocktail there. very different scene that the white eagle tho.
