This scene unfurled outside my office window this afternoon. Raising the bridge at rush hour snarled up the traffic pretty good. There were more bicycles than cars stuck at the foot of the Hawthorne bridge but I don't think people minded too much because they were all hanging on the railing, craning their necks to get a look at the boats. You could see sailors climbing around way up in the riggings. i wonder if there's a way I can negotiate my way onto a boat like that...
